I’m Dr. Joe Yanni, a licensed psychologist with close to two decades of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families through life’s challenges. My work is grounded in trust, compassion, and a desire to help people move forward, both emotionally and practically.
I began my career as a school psychologist, where I continue to serve students with emotional disabilities in a specialized educational setting near New York City. This role has provided me with extensive experience helping children, adolescents, and families navigate anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma, school-related concerns, and transitional challenges.
Within highly structured environments, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how school, family dynamics, emotional functioning, and personal development intersect. My work often involves coordinating with educators and specialists to support long-term emotional and academic success.
I believe therapy should feel collaborative, not scripted. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, humanistic care, behavioral strategies, and lifestyle-based interventions. This allows me to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each client rather than assuming that one therapeutic model is appropriate for every person or every problem.
Over the course of my clinical work, this approach developed into The Yanni Integration Approach, a practical framework for understanding how therapists can make thoughtful clinical decisions and adapt treatment based on the individual, the problem being addressed, and what is most useful at a particular point in therapy.
I am the author of A Therapist’s Guide to Integrative Therapy, The Yanni Integration Approach: A Practical Framework for Real-World Clinical Decision-Making, which further explores this framework and the practical realities of individualized clinical work.
In my private practice, I have the opportunity to support children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families throughout Westchester County. My work is practical, interactive, and individualized, with attention to the ways that emotions, behaviors, relationships, family dynamics, school, work, and life circumstances influence one another.
To meet the growing demand for mental health care in Westchester, I’ve expanded Psychological Services of New York, P.C. to include a team of trusted clinicians. I personally oversee the practice to help ensure that every client receives a high level of care, professionalism, and sensitivity.
Psychological Services of New York, P.C. provides therapy in Scarsdale and Pleasantville, as well as virtual therapy throughout New York State when appropriate.

Her background in both education and clinical psychology helps her understand how emotional, behavioral, social, family, and school-related concerns can affect one another. Dr. Estela Garcia earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Walden University and brings extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families to her practice under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Yanni.

Dr. Garcia is committed to helping young people and their families navigate emotional, behavioral, and social challenges while developing strong, trusting therapeutic relationships.
